It's Destiny!'s own Liza and Tammy continue their coverage of Rock Star: Supernova. Following is Tammy's take on the this week's results episode.

LET'S CALL THE WHOLE THING OFF
(Recap by Tammy)
To kick off the show, we are shown the usual clips of last night. Toby Rand, Magni, Zayra Alvarez, Dilana and Ryan Star are highlighted as the better performances, while Storm Large, Lukas Rossi and Patrice Pike were apparently sauteed in wrong sauce.
'Back at the mansion', Storm laments over the harsh comments she received because of 'I Will Survive'. It looks bleak for Storm, and Lukas believes that the performance will earn her a trip to the bottom three. (Which is Mark Burnett speak for "not a chance" - Liza) Analyzing her performance thanks to VCast!, Storm still believes she rocked it, which is reason enough to kick her off this show right now. Own up to the sucktacular performance, Storm! Dave Navarro commends her for how she took the criticism from the band last night. Storm is appreciative of this. Dave moves on to Toby Rand, who says that he'll continue his streaking ways to get the songs he wants, which tickles Dave's funny bone.
Next, with a 'very special' announcement, it is revealed that Supernova is ready to play tonight! The crowd roars appreciatively. Tommy Lee says that they want to 'test' some of their songs out, and the rockers have worked this week learning a 'brand new' Supernova track. The rockers are shown in the studio each laying their different spins on the song. Dilana is declared to have that something special for this week/this song.
Decked out in a fauxhawk and leather bustier paired with jeans, Dilana takes the stage with Supernova. The air is thick with anticipation as the world waits to hear this new and innovative sound that these Gods of Rock have combined to create. Entitled 'Leave the Lights On', it is quickly apparent that this song isn't quite so 'new', as it is the track that the rockers used during the earlier songwriting clinic that produced such classic lyrics as 'bring your lotion and your thong', only the 'whoo hoo's and annoying hand clapping have been cut from the track. Replaced, of course, with annoying 'yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah's'. Most of the lyrics are hard to make out. Having rewound to watch this thing three times to try to decipher what Dilana is singing, the chorus and most of the song remain fairly forgettable. Something about 'leave the lights on, if you know what I mean'. Thats about the level of depth to this song. It is recycled 80's rock, and not quite the fresh sound that Supernova has promised. Which, considering the members, is probably not so shocking. A few scantily clad dancers join Dilana onstage, and she does a bit of gyrating and does her best to sell a very, very terrible song. Advice to the remaining competitors: if this is the best Supernova is offering, run, don't walk, back to your respective bands back home. All of you are too good to be singing this meaningless, soul-sucking dreck. (Word to your motha'! Good thing my favorite probably has no chance of winning. Heh. - Liza) A completely impartial Dave declares the performance 'awesome'. I lose my lunch.
After the break, Ryan and his 'superdynamic performance' is given the encore and he reprises 'In the Air Tonight', delivering an even more intense and powerful version than the one from last night. The boy can sell a song just with his eyes! Tommy giddily claps from his seat. (And I swoon from that luscious falsetto note at the end. -Liza)
Brooke returns to announce the members of the bottom five. Zayra, Patrice, and Toby were announced as the initial bottom three after the show. Joining them were Magni and Storm. Dave is surprised by Magni's appearance there, and suggests that Storm shouldn't be there either (this from the same man that 'hated' what Storm did last night...short term memory much?).
The first rocker to end up in the bottom three, is, to no one's surprise, Zayra, who will be singing 'Razorblade' by Blue October. Zarya does her best to put her unique interplanetary twist on the song, but her shrieks, indecipherable lyrics due to her thick accent, and an unfamiliar song choice combine for a performance that is a bit manic (even for Zayra). Jason and Dave give her a standing O for effort.
Patrice, looking less and less 'right' for this band by the second, is announced as the next performer. She has chosen 'Celebrity Skin' by Hole. Patrice delivers a better performance than last night, and tries her best to inject some of the intensity that she has been accused of lacking. The end result seems a bit forced and desperate, as she wanders across the rocker pod and saunters over to sing for Supernova in their faces. They do their best to look entertained.
The last rocker tonight to hit the bottom three is Magni, who chooses Radiohead's 'Creep', and I'm beginning to wonder if I've stumbled across a Lukas Rossi Tribute Night or something. A ballsy move by Magni, as the song was considered encore worthy when Lukas delivered it last week. Obviously thinking that he will be able to deliver a performance that is strong enough to withstand the inevitable comparison, Magni takes the stage. Magni has some pitch issues as he begins the song and talks to the crowd as he sings, and odd choice for such an intense song. As he sings, Magni meanders about in a careless manner, then decides to turn it up mid-song and begins writhing about the stage. He ends the song with a shrug as if to say 'eh, wasn't bad'. I agree. (I loved it. He had Dilana in tears, yo! -Liza)
When the rockers combine to take centre stage once more, Magni is said to have done 'great' and is immediately sent back to join his fellow competitors. Tommy tells Patrice she has 'potential for Supernova' (which deeply overjoys her, I'm sure -Liza), and lamely tells Zayra that 'she has to go'. A teary-eyed Zayra thanks Supernova for giving her the opportunity as the remaining rockers huddle together in solidarity. And with that, Zayra must return to her home planet. Farewell, o fearless one! (And congratulations for gaining your freedom! -Liza)
