It's Destiny!'s own Liza and Tammy continue their coverage of Rock Star: Supernova. Following is Liza's take on the this week's reality episode.

VIVA LAS VEGAS
(Recap by Liza)
After getting through the double elimination last week, the Rock Star: Supernova Top 8 received a trip to Las Vegas with Supernova. After oo'ing and aah'ing over the private Supernova jet and the lush (read: alcohol-stocked) accomodations, the rockers arrive in Las Vegas and pull up to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in (get ready for the product placement) Honda Ridgelines. Amidst the rock memorabilia at the Hard Rock are Gilby Clarke's guitar and Tommy Lee's leather jacket. Poor Jason Newsted. I guess he has nothing there. Zayra Alvarez interviews that she can't wait for her own stuff to be up there too. This makes me snort, but then I remember her NASA suit, and I think Zayra is the one contestant with the best chance of getting some memorabilia in there.
The rockers check out The Joint, where Supernova's first gig will be held on New Year's Eve. This is going to be where the world's first impression of Supernova as a band will be formed. Storm Large interviews that being there solidified it for her. "Nice carrot," she says. Ryan Star notes that bringing them there was very smart of Supernova and that all eight of them want it that much more now.
After the tour of The Joint, the crew heads to the presidential suite, which is decked out with huge rooms, plasma tvs and a bowling alley. Zayra can't get over the bowling alley, saying it's "brilliant" (This I do not understand--who likes bowling so much that they need it in their hotel room? -Tammy). As everyone is checking things out, Dilana takes the opportunity to cozy up to Tommy. She gives him the hard sell of herself, telling him that "all these ___'s can go home right now" and that she can sing and draw a crowd and hang with the boys. And with that exchange, Dilana's stock plummets with regards to the fan vote because that will not go over well with the fans of the other singers.
The group then partied like rock stars, with bowling, women, girl on girl action and lots of liquor. Toby Rand says that a lot of people couldn't control their liquor that night, including himself. That does not escape the stern father eye of Jason, who is watching their actions the entire time. Jason, who seems to be the one taking this gig the most seriously, notes that they are always representing the band, and at a party you don't have to go all the way and get stupid so that people are laughing at you. "And that's laughing at me. I. Will. Not. Deal. With. That," he says (seriously...how did Jason end up in Metallica? He is the least 'rock' rockstar I've ever seen! -Tammy). Ryan smirks that it's 10:30 pm and you can still get your grandparents on the phone at this time of night, but Lukas and Toby "the rockers of the house", and he really used air quotes here, are passed out. "This is our dream, and I'm not throwing it away by drinking way too much," he says.
The rockers return to the mansion the next day, and while most of the others are passed out from exhaustion or hangovers, Dilana is restless on her birthday and decides to wake up a sleeping Lukas, pouring a bit of water inside his belly button and rubbing the water on his lips. So essentially, she had Lukas taste water that was tainted by his own belly button fuzz. GROSS. After jumping on his bed and getting nowhere, she moves on to torture Toby, tying his legs up together. Toby promises revenge.
Ryan, who may have been the only sober person in the group (and I did notice he was drinking bottled water on the airplane while the others were boozing up), is the only person in the right state of mind to find the songs for this week. The one that stands out to him is a blank song sheet with "Your Original" as the title. "I've been waiting for this moment since I got here," he says. So have I, Ryan! But only one person can do this, and a struggle is sure to ensue.
Ryan gathers the rockers together for the selection process. The songs are to be performed unplugged this week. Up for grabs are "Message in a Bottle", "I Will Survive" (okay, the Rock Star producers need to be tortured, Dilana style, for including this song amongst the selections. -Tammy) and "Solsbury Hill" with Gilby. Everyone wants to do the latter song with Gilby because of last week when Dave Navarro took everyone to task for not fighting for it. Ryan saves the last choice for the original song, throwing it down and saying he'll die for it. Magni immediately says in a jovial manner, "And let's fight!"
But first, the fight for the Gilby song takes place. Toby emphasizes that he's very passionate about this and that he really wants to do this song. So does Dilana, although she just played with Gilby last week. Storm immediately thinks that Dilana doesn't really want the song; she's just screwing with Toby. Lukas goes to bat for Toby with Dilana, saying she's already had her chance, and Magni agrees, saying "Come on, for peace sakes." Dilana tells Toby that if she gives it to him, he has to give her something in return - he has to strip down totally naked and run around the pool with everyone there. Toby, who is half drunk, agrees to it pretty quickly and before they show the footage, he interviews that it was a really cold day. Riiiiight. Because 80-90 degree weather makes me want to put on a jacket.
The more serious battle comes for the original song. Both Zayra and Ryan want this. Zayra thinks she may not have a chance to do this later, but Ryan reminds her that he was the one in the bottom 3 last week (and she was not). Zayra debates that she's always in the bottom 3, more so than him, and if that's his reasoning, then she should get it. Good point. Toby and Magni encourage Ryan to take "In The Air Tonight" and tell him confidently that he won't hit the bottom 3 if he sings this song. Magni plays the song on piano for Ryan and they sing it together. Ryan sounds terrific on it, and he says it's the one song that can be his song, so he relents and lets Zayra have the original. She says he probably hopes she'll go out and destroy herself on it, but if she goes out, that's how she wants to go, doing the most real thing she can do - her own song.
At rehearsal, Zayra and the House Band practice her song "Lluvia De Mar", which translates to Rain of the Sea. Huh. Wouldn't that be "Lluvia DEL Mar" then? Anyway, Zayra knows it's going to be a big risk, but singing this she will be most comfortable, and this is the moment she has been waiting for. Toby practices "Solsbury Hill", and Paul Mirkovich notes that the song is difficult because of the rhythm, and Toby struggles a bit in finding the right rhythm in certain places. Storm runs through "I Will Survive" and can't believe she chose the iconic song. "Oh my god, that's horrible," she says after she finishes. Paul agrees that she's in a bit of trouble after hearing her terrible attempts at rearranging the song.
Will Storm survive this or is she in a tempest of trouble? Check back on Tuesday to find out.
