It's Destiny!'s own Liza and Tammy continue their coverage of Rock Star: Supernova. Following is Tammy's take on the this week's reality episode.

I WRITE THE SONGS
(Recap by Tammy)
As this week's reality episode begins, the final ten rockers are making the usual customary toast in memory of the bootee. Patrice Pike is confused as to why she ended up in the bottom three this week, and Jill Gioia claims that she's not ready to go home yet. There is a fun dose of horseplay as Toby Rand smashes some cake into an unsuspecting Ryan Star's face, and a chase ensues around the pool. The fun and games are over when Gilby Clarke roars in on his motorcycle to kick off their next songwriting clinic, which will have the rockers each writing lyrics and melody over a Supernova backing track. To add even more pressure, the finished song is to be completed by the following day. Luckily, the gift of brand new Gibson electric guitars for each of the remaining competitors will aid them in this task.
As they spread out across the mansion to work on their songs, a few of their efforts are highlighted. Lukas seems like he has a feel for the song and quickly churns out both lyrics and melody in less than fifteen minutes. Sample lyrics: I hate you/You hate me/Why should we make amends/ You follow me like shadows/I hope you understand
Lukas checks on how the rest of the rockers are coping with the task. Toby has a lot of lyrics down, but finds that the situation makes him feel a bit vulnerable. Dilana is working on her song with Magni. She sings a few of her lyrics to him, and amazingly, Magni manages to keep a straight face, such is the degree of awful of those lyrics. Storm Large jumps on the treadmill to write her song, as she is accustomed to doing, apparently. Ryan struggles with the time contraints of the clinic and says that he feels a bit like a fish out of water. He ends up spending more time writing the song than anyone else. Lukas is bored and repeatedly comes to talk to Ryan, who appears somewhat frustrated by the interruptions. (I can't help but wonder if this isn't a bit of gamesmanship here on Lukas' part. Either it's a ploy to hinder Encore Boy's progress, or Lukas is just oblivious and rude. Or both. - Liza)
The next day, the rockers gather together in front of Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted, and Gilby to present their songs. Ryan's song, which sounds a bit Pearl Jam-ish, intrigues Supernova. Jason thinks that Ryan's voice "cuts through the music really well", and wants to hear him on more Supernova tracks. Storm impresses the band with the melody she came up with, Toby is said to have a "flowing rhythm", and Jill apparently has learned nothing in the past few weeks, as her song is full of her particular brand of oversinging that makes you want to cover your ears.
Dilana is next. Boys and girls, it appears that we have found Dilana's kryptonite: songwriting. Not only is it veering sharply into "Stop/Go" territory, but she also acts out the lyrics as she sings them! Completely and utterly cringeworthy! It's fantastic! The band is not really feeling Dilana's creation, calling her out on her 'cornball lyrics', which may the first criticism she's had all season from Supernova.
Sample lyrics: Bring your wine/ Bring your song/Your Lotion/And your Thong. (Hey, Dilana, Sisqo called. He wants to say thanks for writing an even more idiotic thong song than his. - Liza)
To contrast Dilana's trainwreck, Lukas is shown confidently presenting his song (which he calls 'dirty and sexy...like myself', heh), and is lauded by Supernova as having 'killed it' (in a good way). Tommy Lee proclaims Lukas to be an 'it' getter.
Post-clinic, Magni's family comes to visit, and instantly the rockers crowd around the fresh blood. Magni says that he's recharged, having his wife and child there. Later, Dilana is the first to find the song choices for this week, which include 'All the Young Dudes', 'Instant Karma', and 'Creep'. Gilby will be playing on 'Won't Get Fooled Again', and Dilana is incredulous to find that the rockers do not fight her for it. Ryan notes that 'this isn't a house of brilliant strategists, this is a house of musicians'. Lukas, who has been told by Supernova to show more of his range, is encouraged by Dilana to take on 'Creep'. (Talk about gamesmanship! She wants him to blow her away about as much as Toby and Lukas want to have their keg taken away - Liza) Dilana is skeptical that Lukas can pull off the more challenging elements of the song, but judging from the rehearsal footage of Lukas practicing alone, she may be in for a surprise.
And in case we'd forgotten just how unathletic these boys really are, the show closes with yet another sad display on the basketball court, this time with the rockers being destroyed by a surprisingly slick Our Band: House. Pure comedy. Perhaps Our Rockers should start with a match against a nearby School for the Blind and work their way up.
