Christmas Time!

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!
The weather has shifted to the cold and breezy, and Christmas is just around the corner. Coming up this month are several tv programs sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

A new two-hour musical version of A Christmas Carol will air November 28 on NBC. Kelsey Grammer stars as Scrooge, alongside Jason Alexander, Jesse L. Martin, Jane Krakowski, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The production, based on the Madison Square Garden stage version, features songs by Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens. Shot in Budapest, Hungary, the movie magically captures the time and place of Charles Dickens’ classic. God bless us, everyone!

Singing their favorite Christmas songs, the three American Idols share fond holiday memories and spread holiday cheer. They also display their wares, hoping you’ll add them to your wish list, as they each sing tracks from their new CDs. Unlike last year’s Christmas special, this one won’t have the antics of the American Juniors, the charisma of Ryan Malcolm, the short skirt of Christina Christian, or the joy of Clay Aiken. Nevertheless, with their personality, talent, and style, the three title holders are sure to make this a Christmas to remember.

Two of them will also be appearing this season on NBC’s American Dreams. In the show’s next episode, Fantasia will appear as Aretha Franklin, singing her classic, “Respect” (which, oddly enough, was Kelly Clarkson’s signature song on American Idol). Clarkson continues to bring the holiday tidings when she reprises her role of Brenda Lee on the American Dreams Christmas episode, singing “Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree.”

Can’t get enough of American Idol alumni spreading tidings of comfort and joy? Well, you’re in luck! Clay Aiken’s Christmas special will air December 8 on NBC. He will be singing songs from his new release, Merry Christmas With Love. If you want to experience his holiday cheer in person, you can catch him throughout November and December on The Joyful Noise Tour.

Let the holidays begin!
